David Ogilvy’s “8 Habits of Highly Creative People” urges us to be constantly curious. It’s the only way we will see the endless trail of ideas that surround us. Our belief is that in being exposed to diverse people, we’ll be able to spark ideas and solve problems. Because, sometimes, solutions to problems come from totally unexpected sources.
This is what How To Friday is all about – exploring new territory and learning new skills. Emma Sadleir is our guest next week Friday and she’ll be chatting about the legal considerations of using social media. She has the unenviable task of trying to police the internet.
She’s a media law consultant and worked in the media litigation department of Webber Wentzel for five years before going on her own. Much of her work involves creating social media strategies and policies for corporates and schools, and providing training and workshops on social media law.
So if you’ve ever wondered whether you can get fired for what you say on Twitter or arrested for threatening a rampage on Facebook, make sure you don’t miss this one! If you’d like to attend, send us a mail. Or make sure you follow along from 11:00 on 17 May at #HowToFriday and @OgilvyJoburg.
